Other teams take the bunt away but we seem to be okay with playing back and then charging. Maybe we are used to our team that has no slappers and not very good bunters. But many teams do slap/bunt and we have difficulty defending the short game. In viewing the games, it just seems We aren’t very prepared and not aggressive. Hence our difficulty winning close games. Other teams are able to generate 1 to 2 or even 3 runs a game. With our weak offense, that oftentimes leads to a close game but a loss. If your team is weak offensively, you need to (1) play great defense and (2) manufacture runs. We are not doing either very well especially in ACC play and the result is very bad. This team needs new leadership to emphasize fundamentals and aggressiveness as a strength and then recruit some speed on offense that is sorely lacking.
